I left Johnny's on Saturday morning at midday, so I could make it back in time for the recording at London Recording Studios.
We put down guides for What You Do and Sunday - I really wanna give you guys a listen to What You Do, but since it's just a demo I don't want you to get too attached to it =p It sounds fantastic though. If Shoebox is just an album of songs that sounds like What You Do, that'd be fantastic.
I should clarify that I'm not necessarily recording my whole album with Alan. We're doing What You Do and seeing how it goes, I think, but I assume it'll cost me a lot to use the studio for more than this song, as well as finding the time to do it - I might ask Tom or NSG to record it instead.
(Me and Tom kissed, a little bit. xD)
During the day, I got a text from Dave and Tom, who ended up crashing at my house. Along with my mum, we went to see the Dark Knight - I really don't wanna talk about it except to say you're all twats for thinking it's amazing cos it fucking isn't. And this is the last time I do something in spite of knowing I won't enjoy it. I gave in and watched The Unicorn And The Wasp when I knew I wouldn't like it, and I was right about that too. Next time I say I won't enjoy something just fucking believe me. The only genuine joy I got from the cinema experience was when Tom and I started to pick at the plot and giggle, before my mum told us to be quiet.
Yesterday, after Tom and I recorded a music video for Eyelashes (it'll be up in a few days), I went to a free Fratellis gig at the Apple Store with Azrepheal, Becky, her friend Laura and my mum. It was amazement <3 Jon Fratelli is actually very hot, and he looks a lot like Dave, which I'm sure will frustrate the latter.
Becky stayed at mine, and this morning we were gonna see Wall-E but I got distracted with Facebook and didn't leave in time xD We have an Innovatia rehearsal tonight and we're gonna see it tomorrow instead.
We're now gonna watch the Chamber Of Secrets rifftrax, or High School Musical for the lulz. I have loads of emails to reply to, Trock forum maintenance and general internetty things ...
Ooh by the way, I have a plan! Here's the plan:
I'm gonna give out the whole of Renshii: First Wave for free, try and finish it by November, and once it's all online I'll sell a finished physical copy. That way people can enjoy the story but if they really like it and want a copy to take places, thumb through, give to friends etc they can buy one. Seemed nice :) First Wave is the first of a trilogy so I'll probably just sell the other two books, but having that first one out there for nothing means a lot of people should be interested and yeah ^_^
Also, I aim to have Chameleon Circuit's album written by August, recorded by September/early October and available for purchase by Christmas.
My second recording date for finishing off Sunday/What You Do is pencilled in as the 31st of August, so when that's finished we're probably gonna release it as a single, with Sunday the A side and What You Do the B side. Obviously you'll all know about that when it happens.
