GOLD MEMBERSHIP
I've always resisted becoming a paid member of Diaryland.
I never thought it offered me anything. To clarify, you can sign up for two paid accounts - 'Gold' and 'SuperGold'.
'Gold' basically allows you to host images on Diaryland's own servers (could be useful, but I just use imageshack); get a stats tracker which shows who's linking to my diary and how many people are visiting (I could have set that up for free); you can run banners in the members area advertising your diary (I don't wanna advertise this diary) and you can create diaryrings to meet people with similar interests (which I don't wanna do).
Anyway, a new feature has recently been uploaded and it says; "new feature for gold members: add an entry through email!"
DOING IT.
So for the next year, and for $31.99, I'm a paid member of Diaryland. (This is a tiny website - I probably use up a high percentage of their annual bandwidth, it's only fair I give them some money after all these years anyway. They've been good to me.)
'SuperGold', btw, is the same as Gold, but you can enable diary comments and you get a 'nerimon@diaryland.com' email address. It's twice as much money for a year and I didn't care about either of those things.
